Re: ROTT Map Editor

Unfortunately the world of ROTT Editors isn't as fleshed out as those of Wolfenstein :( Maybe with the introduction of more source ports with Kaiser's in-dev one, maybe interest will be there for someone to make a new one!

Re: Favourite Mod of the Year (Overall)

I voted The Golden Parrot because out of everything that has come out this year, it's probably the one who's style and atmosphere has stuck with me the most. I haven't played the latest patched version, but what I played was compelling and challenging, with some nice RPG elements I wish I had unders...

Re: Favourite Mod of the Year (ECWolf/LZWolf)

I voted for Hugo's Revenge, because out of the titles I found it the most fun experience overall, and do enjoy being taken on adventures that involve someone other than BJ Blazkowicz. The environments and interactions with it were very nostalgic (the chests gave me Monster Bash vibes), and the atmos...

Favourite Mod of the Year (Overall)

[ Vote for Wolf4SDL/DOS specific ] [ Vote for ECWolf/LZWolf ] It's that time of year, so this makes sense! This year has been amazing. The sheer brilliance of everything achieved has been something to behold. The Wolf3D Wiki is over 2000 pages, documenting mods, authors and overall community history...

Favourite Mod of the Year (Wolf4SDL/DOS)

It's that time of year, so this makes sense! There have been many releases this year, and some of them have been stunning! Wolf4SDL (And indeed Wolf3D in general) is an extremely versatile game engine, and it's shown by the crazy variety of different games on offer. This year also saw AlumiuN bring ...

Favourite Mod of the Year (ECWolf/LZWolf)

It's that time of year, so this makes sense! There have been a lot of ECWolf releases this year and while most of have been ports, there have been some great new releases as well! And with the introduction of LZWolf, the potential of releases on these source ports is only going to increase. The expe...

Re: [Wolf4SDL] Overcrowded

I've updated Overcrowded with a few bug fixes; namely the flamethrower now functions (better than before it broke!), and poison damage now doesn't carry over level to level. Prestiging also has been changed; where-as it was originally only available in the first 15 seconds of a level, it has now bee...

Re: Thoughts on storytelling in mods

Deathtrigger had a short and confusing scripted ingame car sequence at start of level 1. Tekkoudan had a similar approach like Unsung. Umbrella Beginnings and Project Xs also had log files during the levels. Doom: Legions of Hell (DOS) had cut scenes though used it only for simple animated story sc...

Re: Thoughts on storytelling in mods

Serpens posted the following video, which gave me an idea https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2lr-CWm_6o Laughs aside, in-game cutscenes (Possibly derivative of the Death and Victory cameras) would be another cool and unique approach to delivering story. To provide some mental imagery with a theoretica...
